About the role

We’re looking for 2 Assistant Supplier Managers to join our Supplier Management team and play a key role in supporting supplier relationships and ensuring smooth operational performance across our categories.

You’ll be the go-to person for supplier queries, onboarding, and compliance, acting as a vital link between suppliers and internal teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your commercial and supplier management skills in a fast-paced retail environment, where you’ll make a real impact on product availability, cost efficiency, and overall customer experience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the Supplier Manager with all aspects of supplier management for your category, including onboarding, exiting, and issue resolution.
  • Act as a key point of contact for suppliers, handling queries and ensuring clear, timely communication.
  • Maintain accurate supplier records and documentation to support robust reporting and compliance.
  • Monitor supplier risk through credit checks and alerts, escalating issues where necessary to mitigate business risk.
  • Coordinate supplier-facing projects and communications, including new initiatives like supply chain finance onboarding.
  • Liaise with internal teams (Retail, Finance, Logistics, Legal) to resolve queries and keep processes running smoothly.
  • Raise purchase orders and arrange category-wide supplier training sessions.
  • Provide support for supplier website queries and updates.

About you:

  • Previous experience in supplier management, procurement, or a similar role within retail or a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Analytical mindset with confidence in working with data and producing clear reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and comfortable learning new systems.
  • A proactive approach with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Minimum A-level education or equivalent; degree-level advantageous.

You can expect a two-stage interview process for this position:

1st stage - An informal 30-minute video call with the hiring team to discuss your skills and relevant experience. This is a great opportunity to find out more about the role and to ask any questions you may have.

2nd Stage – A one-hour formal interview where you can expect both competency and technical questions. This can be held either in-person or remotely.
