Senior Platform Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer for our Customer Care Tribe.
Our Platform Engineers design and deliver our Cloud infrastructure. With a desire to automate everything they will drive integration between our Cloud infrastructure, our on-site applications and our 3rd party partners.
We look for people who have an Agile mindset. People who can help us by working within cross-functional teams to constantly review business requests and help define the most efficient way to get quality in front of our customer as quickly as possible.
To do this at pace and scale we fully understand that ‘failing fast’ is better than never succeeding.
For us, automation is the key to easy, consistent repetition and keep this at the front of your mind with all design decisions.
What will you be supporting?
AWS our Cloud Platform that hosts our Chatbot app implementation, and the future Blue Prism platform. We use services such as - Lambda, EC2, ECS, Fargate, VPC, ELB, NLB, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, IAM, ActiveMQ and many more.
We use Terraform and Atlantis for our Infrastructure As Code and workflow solutions.
Our new strategic CRM solution that is built on Salesforce Service Cloud where we are leveraging APEX and Lightning in Service Cloud
Other tech that will be great to have includes Java & Spring Boot Microservices, Go, Python, Event-Driven architectures, Jenkins, Copado, Docker.
A bit about the Tribe
The Customer Care Tribe is responsible for designing, building, changing and running technology to ensure the Very Group can handle customer service requests in an efficient, compliant and secure manner. The tribe supports customer identity management, profile & preference, case management, knowledge management, customer satisfaction, communications using a variety of channels and the planning and strategy for the Customer Care operations teams.
Our strategy will see us both build and rent (aaS) industry-leading technologies to deliver secure, stable and innovative solutions.
We're looking for people with a passion for Cybersecurity, a knowledge of OWASP and an understanding of general web security principles as well as the capacity to utilize a wide variety of open source technologies and tools.
Here we are looking for people who can work closely with the engineering squads to drive product roadmaps, by providing security requirements that map security controls to product features.
We're looking for someone who can provide expert advice and consultancy to internal colleagues on risk assessment, incident triage, threat modelling, and security vulnerability mitigation.
There's an opportunity here for you to lead POC development of security tools and ensure that security tools spikes are prioritised within the squad’s backlogs.
This role has lots of crossover to the wider team too and we need your consultative approach to work together with our Senior Cloud Security Consultants to:
Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments, research/evaluate emerging cybersecurity threats and ways to manage them but also work with the team as to how we develop automated ways to monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorised or illegal activity.
You'll be aware of 'ethical hacking', for example, simulating security breaches and able to identify potential weaknesses and implement measures, such as firewalls and encryption
If you can demonstrate experience in most of the above as well as a great attitude and a willingness to learn to progress your career, then you will fit right in.
We will provide adequate training to get you up to speed on any aspects of the role that you're not quite there on.
