About the role

Working closely with the wider Credit Risk, Operations, Data Science and FS teams, you will lead the development, monitoring and implementation of our Credit Risk Prediction models (Application, Behavioural, Fraud and Collections). Assessment of data is key within this role using both internal and external data to develop best in class models which deliver tangible value for our customers and the business. Reporting to the Head of Modelling, Acquisition and Protection, you will lead a team of Senior Analysts and Credit Analysts. As a Senior Manager you will develop the team and ensure the models used are optimised with clear tracking of performance. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead on the development of models used across the credit risk lifecycle.  
  • Lead on the assessment of model performance and look for opportunities to further improve performance the models. 
  • Evaluation of the latest modelling techniques and new data sources.  
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with the credit reference agencies.  
  • Provide regular and ad hoc reports to the Credit Risk Leadership team, FS Exec, Group board and relevant business partners, as required in order to report performance against plan. 

About you

Our underlying requirement is to find the right candidate, so we’re keen to hear from you even if you don’t think you tick all of these boxes. 

  • Senior Risk professional with at least 5 years’ experience in Financial Services with hands on experience at developing credit risk models. 
  • Expert understanding on the monitoring of statistical models and ongoing optimisation. 
  • Expert understanding industry guidance & best practice in relation to development techniques and use of statistical models. 
  • Expert knowledge of data analysis tools e.g. SQL, SAS, Python, Excel (Advanced), PowerBI, Teradata. 
  • Experience of building outstanding business relationships across a corporate business, demonstrating the ability to really influence decisions. 
  • Intellectually curious, with a highly analytical mind 
  • Numerate degree, with good knowledge of statistics. 
  • Further qualification/professional qualification desirable.
