About the team

Our own brand technologist team, work in a fast-paced environment and with suppliers across the Far East, Europe and the UK to source and develop great value trend led products for our customers. Reporting into the Senior Technologist, you will help to support the team to ensure that our products are good quality, fit for purpose and safe to sell; whilst also maximizing speed to market, sales and profit and minimizing markdown through low returns.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Assistant to join us on a 12 months Fixed Term Contract.

In the role you will support the team in the following areas;

 

  • Support the team of product technologist during all stages of product development from first fit to production as required –you will have opportunities to work across all categories and product types.
  • You will also work with an internal design team, buying, merchandising and supply base for various tasks.
  • Carry out admin duties as required for the department, including attending meetings to support technologists and ordering and measuring of stock checks.
  • Support completion of department critical paths.
  • Grow your knowledge of all UK/EU legislation to ensure all new products comply.
  • Develop your skills whilst supporting as needed the technologists and the global product compliance team in the management of supplier quality failures.

About you

We’re looking for a candidate who has a degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

 

  • You may have some experience within fashion already and be able to demonstrate an understanding of how to develop a product.
  • Able to work on your own initiative to complete tasks within a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of office 365.
  • Some understanding of pattern cutting and garment construction as well as grading and sizing/fitting would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Numerical and analytical skills.
  • You will be organised with great communication skills.
