We have some fantastic opportunities based at our state-of-the-art distribution centre in the East Midlands, Skygate. We have recently restructured the Planning Team and we have some brand new opportunities.

About the role.

Reporting to the Planning Manager and working closely with operational managers, our Planning TM's will provide absolute focus producing the most effective operational plans to deliver customer and business requirements now and during peak. You will be responsible for the daily analysis and delivery of operational volume and resource planning, working closely with the operations, Flow room and training management so plans meet all departmental needs.

You will be the contact point for our agency providers and you will ensure clear communication on resource availability across the teams.

What part will you play?

  • Deliver operational training for operational colleagues at their point of need that add value and drive increased speed to competence
  • Support the Planning Manager with the planning and managing staffing levels during the shift, working with other areas in the fulfilment centre to re-assign resource if/and when required to ensure customer demand and other KPIs are met
  • Monitor productivity throughout the site and maintain company standards.
  • Assist in building and reviewing site operational budget.Build & communicate out efficient operational short-, medium- and long term labour plans that provide required capacities based on customer’s needs and priorities.

  • Create and issue rota schedules & monitor employees annual leave to ensure operational capacity and company’s contractual and legal obligations are met.
  • Coordinate Inbound planning processes to ensure smooth product flow into the depot.
  • Oversee Outbound planning to provide skilled labour and transport resource adequate to required capacities and in line with the budgeted targets.
  • Produce attendance and KPI tracking tools & reports.


About you.

  • Experience of leading a team within a fulfilment or manufacturing environment to achieve departmental and site KPIs
  • Experience of developing, coaching and engaging a team
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, especially in Excel and Access.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operational activity within an automated fulfilment centre
  • Understanding of the end to end process within an automated fulfilment centre.
  • Ability to deputise for the Shift Manager if required
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement tools & techniques
