About the team
The Retail Tribe within the Very Group is responsible for designing, building, integrating, and running technology across all retail products and functions. Retail capabilities span Sourcing, Planning, Forecasting, Buying, Merchandising and Pricing, as well as the Product journey from initial setup to publish!

About the role

Working closely with Product and Tech colleagues, The Delivery manager will facilitate the delivery of new, or improvement of existing products and capabilities aligned to the functions in the Retail team.

The Delivery manager will build and maintain relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders in line with business expectations and will be responsible for managing squad/initiative costs ensuring they remain within budget.

The Delivery Manager will be able to apply the appropriate traditional or agile approach to a new initiative and coach and support the squad acting as a servant leader.

The Delivery Manager will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate Agile Principles and Mindset.
  • Have strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Build and maintain teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well.
  • Work with the Product Manager, Tech Lead, BA, and delivery team to define the roadmap for any given product.
  • Demonstrate Adaptive Planning techniques, problem detection, and encourage continuous Improvement.
  • Identify and own the resolution of impediments, helping the team to overcome them.
  • Focus the team on value driven delivery.
  • Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery team.
  • Coach and mentor both team members and others to apply the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques.
  • Actively participating in the Delivery Manager community, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge to encourage best practice.

Requirements

What you’ll bring

  • Experience of Traditional or Agile Project Management.
  • Experience of or awareness of the principles of Change Management
  • Strong Communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience of Budget Management, reporting against squad/initiative budget - highlighting any risks and mitigation plans
