About the team

The Very Own Brand Home Team’s role is to provide great quality Homewares and Furniture at affordable prices. This is an exciting time to join our successful and expanding Home department as we launch our Everyday and Very Home brands in addition to a new celebrity collaboration. With this, we can tap into a wider customer base than we have ever been able to reach before.


About the role

The role of Home Designer at Very involves designing and developing multi-product homewares and textiles including bedding, home accessories and upholstery.

You will work closely with our experienced technical team to ensure quality is kept consistently high.

In addition, you will be working collaboratively with your Buying and Merchandising teams, to deliver cohesive and commercially successful collections.

The role may involve overseas travel for both inspiration and development trips in addition to travel between our two head office sites in London and Liverpool.

You will also be a part of a wider design team working on our Home Styles to deliver top line trend and inspiration. You will also lead the Home team on key trends and direction for the season.


About you

Considerable experience in designing Home ranges for a high street retailer.

Highly skilled in the use of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. Capability to amend and recolour prints and graphics.

Leading and overseeing of fabric sourcing, development of design briefs, product approvals, print & lab dip approvals.

Availability to travel between our UK sites and overseas for development trips.

Ability to work with a strict Critical Path and prioritise workload accordingly.

Lead trend direction and design direction for the Home department.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Comprehensive understanding of market trends and competitor activity

Passionate about building strong and lasting relationships both internally and externally to maximise commercial opportunities.

2nd Stage – Completion of a small design project (completion at home and submission to hiring panel for review)

3rd Stage – Final one-hour interview to talk through the completion of your small design project
