About the role.

We are recruiting a Financial Planning Analyst to work in the Financial Services Finance team.  The successful candidate will support the delivery of financial plans for Financial Services that will meet the strategic goals for the Group.

Develop strategic business plans with the leadership team and senior managers to support The Very Group’s strategy.

Success in the role demands the timely delivery of accurate, well-presented and relevant strategic planning information in a user-friendly form, which is capable of being modified quickly to meet the ever-changing needs of its users.

Key Responsibilities   

  • Support preparation of Five Year Plans, Budgets & Rolling Forecasts.
  • Work with management across the Group to develop business cases and provide financial modelling support. Challenge assumptions and identify risks to regulatory requirements and business targets.
  • Ensure financial models are fit for purpose:
    • Financial control and data integrity.
    • Compliance with financial accounting standards.
    • Reliability and robustness.
    • Functionality and flexibility.
  • Understand the commercial drivers of the FS performance to provide commercial insight.
  • Support to ongoing process improvements.
  • The role also involves ad hoc analysis which may require direct interaction with various management levels including Exec.
  • Advising senior business leaders on commercial implications of strategic decisions, new initiatives, historic trends and current events affecting group financial performance.

About you.

  • A qualified accountant is preferred but part-qualified applicants will be considered if exceptional.
  • Financial modelling experience.
  • A self-starter with the social confidence and charisma to develop highly productive stakeholder relationships.
  • Possess a willingness to learn and develop financial modelling skills
  • Able to challenge upwards and cross-functionally and welcomes being challenged.
  • Technically excellent with the ability to deal with complexity and communicate complex financial matters in simple terms.
  • First-class analytical skills with the ability to interpret critical information and data.
  • To be comfortable working to tight deadlines under pressure.
  • The ability to navigate and thrive successfully through a complex and demanding business.
  • To be able to accept ambiguity and embrace change.
