Retail is detail - and the detail is in the numbers. The Very Group in Ireland has annual turnover in excess of €100m with over 500k customers of our Littlewoods Ireland brand. Our Finance team, based in Blanchardstown, Dublin, don’t just crunch the numbers. Every day we work at supporting the wider business to achieve its objectives through collaboration and analysis. This role is an exciting addition to the Finance team in Littlewoods Ireland and will play a pivotal role in building out the analytical capabilities while influencing and shaping strategic decisions to grow our business at pace and scale.
This role reports to our Senior Finance Manager for The Very Group in Ireland and with our new digital ways of flexible working, the successful candidate can be based at either our Dublin HQ at Blanchardstown or at Group HQ in Speke, Liverpool.
About the role
The FP&A Accountant will undertake budgeting, forecasting and analyses for the Littlewoods Ireland brand, that provides senior management of the Very Group in Ireland with business cases and information to make major operational, financial and strategic decisions.
On a week to week basis, this will look like…
Provides forecasting and planning by taking the inputs from commercial analysis and translating these into outlooks and projections to enable better decision-making for the Directors of the business
Analysys and explains historical performance and forecast future results, highlighting trends, patterns, insights that informs future financial decision-making to maximize sales, cash and margin
Completes the bi-annual budget cycle in timely and accurate way to reflect and inform the strategic decisions of the business
Completes timely and accurate weekly outlooks to identify any risks and opportunities to the EBITDA of the business to support the Finance Director when presenting to the Board of Directors
Provides analysis and updates on strategic and cost saving initiatives to inform the Managers and Directors on progress to target
You will be a qualified accountant, working in Industry for the past three years and you will also have solid experience of delivering within an FP&A role.
You possess powerful critical thinking ability. Your analytical skills are your superpower and your wizardry with tools like Business Objects, Excel or Power BI means that you can provide amazing reporting capability that interprets figures into meaningful insight, providing your stakeholders with potential future outcomes with clarity and accuracy. You thrive at cutting through complexity, problem solving with alacrity and can inform, empower, and influence your stakeholders with your strong communication skills. You are highly curious and commercially minded and thrive on delivering results within a fast-paced retail and customer focused environment. You build relationships though connecting and collaborating, and perhaps have experience of operating in Finance In a group structure or business partnering.
You possess the ability to set your own high standards and need little direction to get going. You engage your powers of planning, organizing and prioritization that enables you to deliver to plan. You’re action oriented and will get stuck-in when needed. You take pride in your work and are careful with detail.
