About us.

Hey, we’re The Very Group. Home of Very.co.uk, Littlewoods.com, and a team of 3,500 super-talented people.

We’ve been reinventing shopping experiences for over a century. Technology has played a huge part in that, helping us transition from catalogues’ to pureplay online retail, but we’re not the finished article.

As the UK's largest integrated retail and financial services provider, we have a pretty unique position across three huge industries (retail, technology and credit) and our ambition is bold, to build the number one shopping destination for shoppers who value credit anywhere online. But we believe with our passion and track record for reinvention, we can improve how the world pays and shops for the things they love. Think you can help us? Read on...

About the team.

Spend your placement year with our fashion design team and you’ll love helping us to set the trend and provide our customers with the latest fashions. You’ll put your learning into action in the fast-paced world of retail. And you’ll develop your skills every day with the support of a mentor, our superb training and a development plan that’s as individual as you are.

Learning at pace, you’ll enjoy getting creative in an environment where every day is different. One day you could be cutting and gluing, creating inspirational mood and trend boards. The next you could find yourself helping with a fashion show or out and about on the high street putting together competitor reports. All the time we’ll keep you on your toes with different challenges and experiences to help you kick start your dream career in fashion.

About the role.

You’ll be based in our fabulous London Victoria Office just a few hundred steps from Victoria Station, (check your fitness band if you don't believe us!) Sky Victoria occupies a fantastic location in the heart of the city.

Designed by award-winning interior design specialists, the 25,000 square foot space features catwalks that run right through the centre of the office. Huge digital walls where our data can be monitored in real-time. A tree-lined reception that brings the outside in and bleacher-style shared spaces and games areas.

  • Develop a good understanding of every stage of the design process
  • Create mood boards, identify trends and look after our design area
  • Be constantly inspired and encouraged to develop your own design and technical skills
  • Learn from the best in fashion and development
  • See how fashion fits together with different business areas, attending meetings with our buying teams and working with merchandising, PR and more

About you.

  • Studying a fashion and design degree or equivalent, you should live and breathe fashion and have set your heart on a career in the exciting world of retail
  • Ambitious, assertive and professional with a real thirst for knowledge, you must have a good commercial brain and be skilled in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • As the pace is fast here, you’ll also need to be a superb organiser who can manage a busy workload and hit tight deadlines.
  • Not afraid of hard work, you’ll be brave, innovative and strong minded with confident communication skills.
