iOS vs Android…
It’s one of the biggest debates of the modern day.
Some prefer the perceived better battery life and the customisability of Android and others prefer the camera and the security that comes with iPhones and iPads.
One area that is vital to the majority of people who use either or, are apps.
We have both an iOS and an Android app, and we are looking to at ways to massively improve them and the experience our customers have when interacting with them.
At the moment, our apps are hybrid apps, however we will be looking to build with native wherever this adds value (using Swift and Kotlin)
As a result, we’re growing our team of iOS Developers, to work as part of the wider Software Engineering team.
You’d be working across one of our newly formed squads which sit within our Digital Customer Experience division.
As a general rule of thumb, each squad consists of a Product Owner, Tech Lead, Software Engineers, Front End Engineer, Tester, BA, UX Designer and a UX Researcher.
What are we looking for?
Although we are open on experience levels, we do need previous iOS Development experience and strong communication skills are a must, as you’d be dealing with various stakeholders across the business.
We value people who can demonstrate a passion and curiosity around technology allied to a good understanding of modern software engineering methods, tools and processes.
We look for people who have great interpersonal skills, love working collaboratively, take ownership of the conversation on quality, are fearless in their approach to work, and continuously seek feedback to learn from.
We like to use Test-Driven approaches to software engineering to ensure our QA is efficient and effective. We are constantly evolving our technology stack based on what is most efficient in engineering terms to deliver a safe and secure environment for our customers to transact within, whilst delivering an architectural estate that ensures a maintainable and easily deployed environment.
Self-development is really important for us. We see both learning together as a team through the process of delivery and individual learning to build specific skills to able to contribute more to the team, as really important. We will give you the time and tools to do this.
