About the role.

This is an exciting opportunity to come and join our successful risk and compliance team, in our fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

Drawing on your considerable experience and understanding of financial service regulations you will support the business in delivering compliant, effective policies and controls that deliver fair customer outcomes. Additionally, you will be supporting in driving effective risk management practices within the TVG group and provide oversight of these.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Analyse complex information and provide appropriate insights and recommendations to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide advice and support to the Line of Business alongside assurance on the adequacy and efficiency of policies and procedures in engendering good customer outcomes.
  • Build relationships to enable effective risk and compliance expertise with assigned functions, major change programmes, and other change activity.
  • Promote appropriate awareness and understanding of compliance and risk, embedding the culture within the business.
  • Where risks, issues or control weaknesses are identified, work with first line colleagues to determine materiality, and establish regulatory impact. Report findings to stakeholders and ensure they are consistently managed through agreed processes. E.G Risk events.
  • Where required, attend, and contribute at governance committees, including pack creation and relevant outputs.
  • The scope of the role covers all Very Group and outsourced locations, both on and offshore, and may require travel and presence at each of these sites.

About you.

In this business-critical role, you must have extensive knowledge of the FCA’s rules and regulations such as CONC, ICOBS and DISP. Ideally, you will have occupied a compliance or risk management role previously in a consumer credit firm where you have shown a deep understanding of the issues and challenges that can arise in this area.

Passionate about regulation you’ll be consistently identifying areas for potential improvement or innovation. You will have the chance to shape our processes through the identification of regulatory change and be able to make a positive and tangible difference to the experience of our customer.

You will be commercially aware, structured and methodical in your approach. You will be prudent, inquisitive and analytical in order to be able to develop and deliver pragmatic solutions. You will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and you will possess the gravitas necessary to work with a wide variety of stakeholders across the business.
