Role Purpose

The Senior Business Analyst has responsibility to analyse, validate, specify, verify, and manage the business needs of initiative stakeholders, including customers and end users.  You will help grow the digital customer experience on our websites and mobile apps. 

You will be involved in a variety of changes with integrated processes and systems within your business area. You will be involved at some level throughout the entire change life cycle and will apply standard ways of working to deliver business benefits using an agile delivery approach. 

At this level, you will be expected to: 

  • Build trust with stakeholders and work alongside the Product Manager in the stakeholder management. Facilitate activities that impact and require changes in other areas of the business. 
  • Analyse and critique presented requirements and work with stakeholders and team members to ensure they align to business needs and strategies. 
  • Support in the planning of squad’s initiatives with the Delivery team and manage the ongoing prioritised backlog of work. 
  • Build up domain knowledge, relevant to the squad, to be able to advise on the squad’s activities. 
  • Support in identifying and managing business changes brought about by the development. 
  • Progress improvements on ways of working within your team, business function and community. 
  • Have functional and / or people management responsibilities – inc. mentoring others. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience in analysing the current customer experience and journeys, with the ability to identify, communicate, and implement opportunities to optimise these. You can help to evaluate and establish requirements using relevant techniques, such as gap analysis. 
  • Experience of using a wide range of techniques to model situations confidently. You know how to gain the necessary agreement from subject matter experts and stakeholders, ensuring they review the results to fix any issues. 
  • Strong facilitation and collaboration skills, with the ability to adapt your communication approach to stakeholders at different levels. 
  • A strong understanding and experience working within iterative delivery approaches, such as Scrum and Kanban. 
  • Experience in e-commerce and digital businesses and systems. 
  • A good understanding of technical concepts, such as Cloud computing (AWS), APIs, data interchange formats. And, ideally, a high-level understanding of MACH architecture. 
  • Testing (business analysis): You can review requirements, specifications, and define clear acceptance criteria. You can identify issues and risks associated with work while being able to analyse and report test activities and results.
