About the team
This working model differs drastically from traditional cross-functional teams that typically focus on a single project. Our squads are small start-ups that will take on multiple projects at a time, and they will build a part of the product, or even create a full new product. Since each squad has contributors or owners from every domain – from engineering to product, or mobile to design – any squad has the breadth and the depth in terms of skill to for end-to-end ownership!
The Data Platform team is responsible for designing, building, changing and running technology to ensure the Very Group can handle ingesting/transforming data at scale to support the business. The DNA tribe is responsible for running the data platform for the entire organisation whilst also specialising with our own products orientated around delivering data products for nearly 100 analysts and data scientists.About You
So you’re an Architect who loves “data”.
You’ve got a technical background. You probably plied your trade within Infrastructure or Software/Data Engineering and now you get to combine your technical head, with your eye for design and nous for road mapping, creating strategies and dealing with stakeholders.
You know the cloud is the future and especially data in the cloud to the way most businesses should be going and the extensive improvements and benefits and opportunities that it brings. Your work is challenging, you no doubt spin a lot of plates but you love it, that’s why you do it.

Our Data Platform team is growing as part of our Data iNsight Action (DNA) Tribe, and we are looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join the team and work alongside the Lead Architect.
We’re going through a large scale, bold transformation and our Architects are imperative to this.
What you’ll be working on
You'll be working across our Data technology estate working on projects ranging from designing new warehouses, architecting a new data platform within AWS using DBT and Hudi, implementing Data Labs (data science toolkits), productionising ML products and guiding wider teams on the best approaches to data use.
You’ll be joining whilst we are in the midst of some large scale projects to move critical infrastructure to the cloud whilst also trying to do “data” better.
You'll be bridging the gap between the squads and Lead Architect and Tech Lead, providing thought leadership, strategic solutions, governance and leadership.
What you need
As well as a solid technical background in an Architect role, as the role is within our Data Tribe, we need someone who gets “Data”. This can be either:
- Experience in end-to-end solution design which includes feeding or building data warehouses.
- Deep knowledge of data warehouses and the data models to support but has experience of implementing larger end-to-end solutions.
- Working with Large MPP warehouse solutions and exposure to wider “data” technologies.
- Working within one of the major clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).
