About the role

As a Senior Delivery Manager, you will be a strong leader accountable for the effective delivery of complex, high-risk products and services. Able to demonstrate a strong delivery ethic using delivery methodologies through your thinking, processes and actions. The Senior Delivery Manager will be able to apply the appropriate approach to an Initiative/delivery and coach and support squads.

Senior Delivery Managers are responsible for the on time and on cost delivery of the work for their squads & initiatives, ensuring that all parties are aligned & timelines agreed to successfully deliver the agreed business benefits & outcomes for our Customers.

You will be part of a large Delivery Community able to work across any business function, managing multiple internal and external stakeholders, translating between technical and business stakeholders. 

The initial engagement resides in the Technology function of our portfolio, experience of running Technology programmes and projects, having a strong technical background would be an advantage for candidates.

In this role, you will build and maintain connected teams of specialists ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well.    

Essential knowledge and skills

  • Proven experience in delivering complex, large-scale technical projects, with a strong focus on data platforms, analytics, or data-driven solutions.
  • Deep understanding of data technologies, including data pipelines, ETL processes, data warehousing, and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Strong technical background, with the ability to engage with engineers, architects, and data scientists to ensure alignment on technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and data teams, to deliver high-quality outcomes. Strong communication and influencing skills to engage senior stakeholders 
  • Experience working with differing Delivery approaches, able to apply the appropriate framework from the TVG Delivery toolkit. 
  • Ability to facilitate ceremonies across multiple technical squads, coordinate tasks and resources with alignment to portfolio strategy and transition outcomes.
  • Experience working on high profile projects & products across a range of technical & business disciplines  
  • Experience working with a Product Manager, Tech Lead, BA, and delivery team to define the roadmap for any given product or project.
  • Demonstrate Adaptive Planning techniques, problem detection, encouraging continuous Improvement. 
  • Experience Identifying and owning the resolution of impediments, helping the team to overcome them. 
  • A focus on continuous value driven delivery. 
  • Experienced at working with & managing external partners.
  • Encouraging behaviours to facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery team. 
  • Experience coaching and mentoring both team members and others to apply the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques.

3rd Stage – A more formal interview which will be competency based.
