About the role

Reporting directly to the Group Treasurer, we are seeking a seasoned professional to lead a dedicated team of treasury senior managers. As Deputy Group Treasurer, you will play a crucial role in managing our bank funding lines, overseeing a substantial securitisation facility, and ensuring efficient operational cash management across the business. 

In this hands-on position, your expertise in cash planning within a levered environment will be essential to navigate the significant cash seasonality we experience. Your ability to form strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders will be key to driving success in this role. 

As a vital member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will have the opportunity to interact regularly with the Executive Board, contributing to strategic decision-making and shaping the future of our organisation. 

Key Responsibilities

  • The Treasury team plays a vital role within the company, overseeing cash management, the securitisation facility, critical reporting, and financing activities for the Group. 
  • This role will lead a team of approximately 3-4 colleagues across various activities and functions, setting the culture, standards, and performance management routines for the team. 
  • Review the Group's cash strategy to ensure it aligns with current requirements and adheres to best practices. 
  • Identify and quantify interest rate risks, review market expectations, and assist in developing appropriate Group strategies. 
  • Manage the £1.6 billion securitisation facility, including monthly reporting and all aspects of forecasting and reporting management. 
  • Oversee the management of FX currency exposure, covering the Group's annual $250 million exposure. Assess the performance of these transactions against market benchmarks and advise the Group on hedging strategies. 
  • Interface with senior internal and external stakeholders, including the Board (including non-executives), with a focus on the Group audit and risk committee, the Treasury Committee, the banks financing the Group, and our audit partners. 
  • Provide agile and engaging leadership, interfacing with multiple finance and non-finance functions regarding seasonal cash management, and galvanizing them to navigate various cash changes with a solution-focused approach. 

About you

  • Experienced Treasurer with proven experience at a senior level across all key aspects of treasury management. Ideally, the candidate will have securitisation experience within a private equity background. Financial services experience is desirable but not essential. 
  • Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA  
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of accounting standards, financial services products, securitisation, treasury products, and business modelling. 
  • Exhibits leadership at a senior level, commercial awareness, negotiation skills, relationship management, decision-making and problem-solving abilities, stakeholder management, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
