About the role.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a proactive tax professional to step into a broad and commercially impactful in-house role, which includes partnering with stakeholders across finance, technology, HR and the wider business.
You’ll own key areas of UK corporate tax compliance and reporting, shape tax governance and controls, and provide pragmatic advice that helps steer strategic decisions in a fast-moving retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing effective and timely business tax advice
- Delivering overall UK corporation tax compliance including preparation of tax returns and group reporting requirements
- Preparing accurate tax disclosures within the financial statements
- Preparing Indirect tax returns & supporting forecasting (VAT experience non-essential)
- Ensuring the accuracy of tax forecasting and payments
- Ensuring appropriate tax governance
- Managing compliance with new UK and international regulations.
- Managing IR35 determinations, preparing PSA and employment tax disclosures
- Automating tax process using tax technology & AI
About you.
We are seeking a passionate, ambitious and down-to-earth individual who is looking for an environment where they will have the opportunity to accelerate their knowledge, skills and development within a high performing team.
We are also looking for the below skills & knowledge.
- Tax qualification (e.g. CTA or ATT)
- Corporation tax knowledge of UK headed groups with global presence ideally in a listed environment
- Practical experience preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns, tax accounting and financial statement disclosures.
- Comfortable navigating complex tax issues and applying UK tax legislation in a commercial context.
- Strong understanding of tax provisioning, ETR drivers and forecasting methodologies.
- Familiarity with employment tax, including IR35 and PSA.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence non-tax stakeholders and translate technical concepts into clear business impacts.
- Highly organised, detail focused and comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong self-starter with desire to improve processes and implement appropriate change

1st stage - An informal 30-45 minute video call with the hiring team to discuss your skills and relevant experience. This is a great opportunity to find out more about the role and to ask any questions you may have.
2nd Stage – A one-hour formal face-to-face interview where you can expect both competency and technical questions.
