About the team.

Own Brand Homewares is a fast-paced category responsible for a broad range of products from Lighting and Decorative Accessories through to Home Textiles and Tableware. We work with suppliers across the Far East, Europe and the UK to source and develop great value trend led products for our customers. We’ve seen market beating performance over the last 12 months, and this is a really exciting time to join the category and be part of our future growth.

About the role.

As the Junior Buyer on Own Brand Homewares, you will be responsible for several subcategories reporting into a Buyer. You will own the development and trading of these subcategories as well as coaching and supporting Assistant Buyers on the Category. You will be responsible for the management of the category critical path and support the Buyer in the development of the category strategy and trading calendar, as well as with the onboarding of new suppliers and factories to fill product gaps.

Whilst development of the team is fundamental, so is your own development. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Assistant Buyer, or an established Junior Buyer looking for a new challenge.

About you.

  • Experience working on a Home or Own Brand category, with a strong passion for Home and Interiors products and trends
  • Proven background in product development, with the ability to build commercial ranges and collaborate effectively with designers and suppliers
  • Highly organised and skilled in clear, confident communication
  • Strong analytical capability to review performance and apply insights to future range planning
  • Ability to anticipate potential challenges that may impact the team or trading and take proactive steps to mitigate them
  • Skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Confident in delegating tasks, leading projects, and making decisions under pressure
  • Capable of deputising for the Buyer in key meetings
  • Able to liaise with senior management and clearly articulate category performance
  • Experience working alongside merchandising functions to develop Range Frameworks

2nd Stage – A one-hour formal task based interview where you can expect both competency and technical questions.
