About the role

It’s a really exciting time to be involved in SEO at Very, having just completed the Skyscape migration there’s huge opportunity to contribute to the foundations of our fresh Organic Growth approach.

The Technical Manager is responsible for the overall technical health and performance of the website to ensure optimal crawlability, indexability, and user experience, all of which are critical for SEO success. This role involves evaluating technical SEO audits and other agency work, identifying and resolving website issues (e.g. schema markup), implementing technical optimisations, collaborating with DCX and onsite search teams regularly, and ensuring the website adheres to search engine guidelines. They will also be responsible for monitoring website performance metrics and implementing solutions to improve technical SEO factors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a consistent plan of optimisation agreed with the Organic Growth Lead and Senior Organic Growth Lead.
  • Set, monitor and measure onsite enhancements and report success back to the business.
  • Support Technical Organic Growth Exec with day to day tasks including setting and supporting on technical roll outs.
  • Lead the measurement of onsite technical SEO performance, identifying opportunities for optimisations and potential benefits.
  • Maintain and develop close relationship with DCX to drive shared goals and outcomes to deliver a consistent technical platform.

About you.

  • You are a logical thinker with a process-driven mindset, technically adept, and have a keen eye for identifying and driving improvements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and highly organised.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently when required.
  • Deep knowledge and passion for SEO, with a solid technical understanding of website health and performance, including how these factors impact Google rankings.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive in your approach.
  • Proven experience working in a retail eCommerce environment.
  • Strong awareness of current trading performance and competitor activity.
  • Proficient in using analytical platforms and interpreting data, with advanced skills in Excel and Google Analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with SEO tools and the ability to leverage various platforms to craft and support data-driven stories.
