About the team.

As well as regular Planning and Reporting responsibilities, our Group FP&A team supports the business in developing and evaluating strategic options, combining rigorous financial analysis with a deep understanding of performance, forecasts and long‑term plans. The team works closely with Group Strategy and the wider business to assess strategic initiatives, capital allocation and corporate activity, including financing and shareholder‑related matters. It is responsible for producing high‑quality analysis and papers to support strategic decision‑making, and for engaging with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders as required.

About the role.

The role will be wide-ranging and diverse with consistent opportunities to stretch and develop. Regular responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the preparation of Group financial performance packs, with clear, insightful analysis and commentary.
  • Playing a central role in month‑end soft and hard close cycles working with the Financial Control and functional finance teams.
  • Principal Author, Content Owner and Co-ordinator of Group Consolidated Monthly Management Accounts, producing performance analysis and commentary
  • Authoring and shaping performance narrative for the CFO’s reporting to the Board, ensuring clarity, coherence, and readiness for senior review.
  • Developing shareholder‑facing performance reporting, including monthly management reports and weekly trading updates.
  • Reviewing, challenging, and consolidating outputs from analysts across the business and contributing to reporting and insight.
  • Translating complex financial detail into clear, decision‑oriented insights linked to operational drivers.
  • Delivering variance analysis, insight, and executive‑level commentary across actuals, prior periods, forecasts, and plans.
  • Ensuring data integrity and control, including consistency between planning outputs, management accounts, and supporting models.
  • Collaborating closely with Group Planning, FP&A, and Financial Control to ensure joined‑up performance views.

About you.

  • High capability in variance analysis and explanation.
  • Exceptional ability to explain numbers clearly and confidently to non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience producing material for Senior leaders, Executives, Board, or external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to own end‑to‑end reporting and performance views.
  • Experience operating in fast‑moving or high‑change environments.
  • Strong judgement: Knows when to escalate, challenge, or stand firm on the numbers.
  • Credible communicator: Trusted by senior stakeholders to explain performance.
  • Structured thinker: Can turn complexity into clarity.
  • Resilient under pressure: Comfortable with tight deadlines and last‑minute changes.
  • Collaborative but authoritative: Works well across teams while maintaining ownership.
  • Experience in FP&A, Group Reporting, or Corporate Finance within a complex organisation is desirable but not essential

You can expect a two-stage interview process for this position:

1st stage - An informal 30-45 minute video call with the hiring team to discuss your skills and relevant experience. This is a great opportunity to find out more about the role and to ask any questions you may have.

2nd Stage – A one-hour formal task based interview where you can expect both competency and technical questions.
